Cloud storage lets you access files across devices, share them with others and keep important work available beyond a single computer.
Sync is not the same as backup
Sync tools can mirror accidental deletion or file corruption across devices. A proper backup should make it possible to recover earlier versions and deleted files.
Compare the essentials
Look at storage limits, device support, privacy options, sharing controls, cost and version history. Consider whether you need easy collaboration or long-term archival storage.
Keep a recovery copy
A common recommendation is to maintain multiple copies of important data, with at least one copy stored separately. Test recovery occasionally so you know your backups work.
